On 14 March 2024, the Chairmen of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Parliaments of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Luxembourg, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Moldova, Spain, the United Kingdom, Israel, Belgium, Canada, the United States and Ukraine issued a statement on the presidential elections in russia scheduled for 15-17 March this year.
The appeal calls on the government of the russian federation to immediately release all illegally detained and convicted persons, to stop torture and inhuman treatment of illegally detained and imprisoned persons, and on the European Union and its member states to continue political, economic, financial and military-technical assistance to Ukraine.
In their appeal, the Chairmen of the relevant foreign Affairs Committees express their support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemn the imperialist actions of the russian federation.
